Greenville ISD is excited to announce Zacherie Williams as the district's next Band Director.
Williams brings experience leading successful band programs across Texas, most recently serving as Director of Bands in Cooper ISD. During his time there, he helped double program enrollment, led the district to its first UIL Sweepstakes Award in 20 years, and guided the marching band to its first UIL State Marching Contest appearance in more than two decades.
Prior to Cooper ISD, Williams served as Director of Bands at Stone Middle School in North Lamar ISD and has held instructional roles in Tyler ISD, Wylie ISD, Frisco ISD, and Forney ISD. Throughout his career, he has been part of multiple state finalist band programs and has focused on developing student musicians while building strong, competitive programs.
"I believe music education provides students with opportunities to grow as leaders, teammates, and individuals," Williams said. "I am excited to join Greenville ISD and look forward to working with our students, families, and community."
Greenville ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez said Williams' passion for student success and track record of program development make him a strong addition to the district.
"Mr. Williams has demonstrated an ability to build programs and create opportunities for students to excel," Lopez said. "We are excited to welcome him to Greenville ISD and look forward to the impact he will have on our band programs."
Greenville ISD welcomes Williams to the district and looks forward to the future of the band program under his leadership.
