Cafe Redesign

Students at Greenville High School will be greeted with a fresh new look when they return to campus this fall, thanks to a complete redesign of the school’s cafeteria.

The updated space features new furniture, modern lighting, expanded seating options, and an improved layout that makes the cafeteria feel more open and welcoming. With bold graphics, flexible seating arrangements, and an overall more contemporary design, the new cafeteria is intended to reflect the energy and pride of the GHS student body.

“This upgrade is about more than just aesthetics,” said Child Nutrition Director Sharee Osteen. “We wanted to create an environment where students feel comfortable, connected, and encouraged to take a break and recharge during their day.”

The project was completed over the summer months and included updates to both the dining area and serving lines. Students can now enjoy quicker service and a more efficient flow through the lunch period, with added options for collaborative seating and quiet spaces.

Greenville ISD leaders say the redesign is part of a larger effort to improve student spaces across the district. “Our facilities should match the high standards we hold for learning,” said Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez. “This new cafeteria is a great example of how we’re investing in our students—not just in the classroom, but in every part of their school experience.”

Students will get their first look at the cafeteria during back-to-school orientation, and the space will be open daily starting the first day of school.
